Manufacturing industrial enterprise of the glass industry
The roots of our company go back more than 60 years and until today Sommerschmied GmbH is a family-owned technology company in the field of glass processing.
In 2008, the current managing director, graduate economist Lukas Liera, seized the opportunity and founded Sommerschmied GmbH Labor- & Verpackungsglas; with this step he ensured the continued existence of the former glass production company in order to develop it into the leading processor of glass tubes.
Due to the increasing demand for technical glass products, the company decided to move to new production facilities at the Neumünster site in 2011. The new premises will enable the company to grow and develop steadily in the coming years.
In 2021 the foundation stone was laid for the largest single investment of the company when the company was expanded by a new high-bay warehouse that allows us to meet the needs of our customers, the special requirements of the markets and continuous growth.
Today, modern production facilities and the constant striving for the highest quality are the basic prerequisites for all our activities. Glass tubes from Neumünster can be found worldwide in a wide variety of everyday products. Test tubes for the food industry, perfume bottles as perfume samples, the test tube with cork in many technology companies and laboratories; everywhere our products find satisfied users.
Today’s shift to sustainably manufactured glass tubes is our current drive as more and more well-known companies need a glass alternative for a plastic solution. The glass tubes and glass rods we produce are manufactured in an environmentally friendly way using solar power, and in doing so make a great contribution to the preservation of our environment.
